About Betsy

betsyspinning001

Betsy connected with all things fiber as long as she can remember. She made many of her own clothes, and sewed satchels and clothes for friends and family through high school and into college. She learned quilting, knitting, and fabric work from parents and grandparents. Through a busy life of family and career, she always kept her sewing machine within reach; an oasis of friendship in a tumultuous world. As an adult, she gathered additional fiber skills and passions as they showed up, from spinning, to weaving, to dyeing and felting, and even raised Angora goats for the experience. In the mountains to the west of the Shenandoah valley for 20 years, she engaged deeply with the fiber community, and when she moved to Minnesota in 2015 she brought that love with her to the fiber folks already here. It is a pretty safe bet that if you stop by, you will find Betsy working on a quilt, or immersed in a new yarn or fiber project.
